      <![CDATA[ <p>The key to knowledge continuity is preserving the relationship and building a network to enable communciation.</p>

<p>A recent book "Continuity management. Preserving corporate knowledge and productivity when employees leave" Beazley, Boenisch and Harden, 2002, Wiley, takes the view that you need to gather a 'knowledge profile'. </p>

<p>Most approaches that advocate an explicit 'capture' path overlook the importance of context and dialog. Access to the person rather than to their idealised notes is clearly the best option here.</p> ]]>

      <![CDATA[ <p>Right on Denham.  The context in which people work is clearly important to the idea of knowledge retention.  Not only what people know, but how they get there and who helps them.  I suspect social network analysis could play a role here as well.</p> ]]>
