Critical Chain software
There are several "big" vendors of critical chain software, and then there are the specialty vendors and consultants. Here are the ones I know about.
UPDATED: Aug 2011 - Updated the software list. Feel free to let me know of others in the comments
- Agile-CC from AdeptTracker
- Aurora-CCPM by Stottler-Henke
- BeingManagement2 from Being
- cc-Pulse / cc-MPulse a SourceForce (Open Source) project as of Oct 2010. Formerly from Spherical Angle.
- CCPM+ by Advanced Projects
- Concerto from Realization, Inc
- Exepron, new in 2011
- Lynx by A-Dato
- ProChain from ProChain Solutions
- PSNext from Sciforma
Now, I just need to find a comparison of these products. Anything will do for a start.

If you really want the inside scoop on all things critical chain just let me know - I led the first multi-project implementation in the United States and have been doing this since 1997. I worked as an Executive Director of The Goldratt Institute (as in Eli Goldratt, creator of TOC) for 12 years and am now a founding partner of The Goal Institute, Inc. - if you want to stop speculating send me an email.
I am searching for a Critical Chain Software easy to use and powerfull. Were you able to get the comparison chart you were looking for 4 and a half years ago? Did William Hoelfe give you insights?
Unfortunately, I have not seen anything more than what I put together way back when. I met William Hoefle last year, but we didn't discuss this very far. As far as I know all three of these products work in/with Microsoft Project and they all do more-or-less the same set of calculations when it comes to identifying the critical chain and helping you to execute your projects. The comparison comes down to features, convenience, and who you have to help you do your implementation. (You are going to get help, right?)
Hi,
We have developed a CCPM software, called AgileCC. Could you be kind to add AgileCC to the list of TOC software?
AgileCC is a stand-alone application which can run on a PC without MS Project. And it offers all the basic PM functionality of MS Project.
More information can be found at http://www.adepttracker.net/agilecc/index.html.
Thanks a lot for your consideration.
Hi.
Has anyone reading this actually used both PSNext and any other reasonably serious contenders in Enterprise PPM/IIM software, and if yes, please share a sentence or two about their relative merits/faults, or better yet, point us to a comparative/independent review.
Thanks for any help.
Sincerely,
Jim Harris
Has anybody found the comparison so far? I am a PhD student writing the thesis about Critical Chain. One of my ideas is to write the dissertation on comparison of different software, as I am not able to find this work done before. However, maybe only I am struggling to find that information and actually it exists already? Thanks
I am not aware of a full comparison of the currently-available software. I've done my own partial comparison, but it wasn't anything like a formal or publishable comparison. I am inclined to caution you to be sure to ponder all the elements of CCPM and how software should support an organization that is doing Critical Chain Project Management.
You may want to review Spider Project software - the best optimized critical chain I know.

Let me add our company's product to the list, if nobody minds.
