To the moon! In what might be called the Ralph Kramden approach to disaster recovery, the private spaceflight startup TransOrbital plans to put servers and storage systems on the moon for the ultimate in safeguarding your data. The company's first flight, which will crash-land a payload on the moon's surface, is expected to take place early next year. About nine months later, it plans to land IT equipment and communications gear on the moon that could be the basis for long-term data storage. Industry analysts are naturally skeptical of the project (for many reasons), noting that efficient data-retrieval techniques will need to be developed for moon data storage to be viable.

This is one way to do it. Transorbital's website doesn't mention anything about this application.
