Why Does KM Still Matter

A previous client pointed me to an article in the Feb 2005 Training + Development Magazine from ASTD that is available from their website, Why Does Knowledge Management Still Matter, by Rex Davenport (free registration required).  The article hits several familiar points to the knowledge management community, from "what is it" to sponsorship to sharing.  If there is a theme, it is that each company has different needs and style and the resulting knowledge management effort will look different.
