      <![CDATA[ <p>Strictly speaking, #1 should be "unaddressed or unexpressed conflict within the team hurts projects!" I'd actually be worried about a team that didn't have conflict, including some conflicting subgoals. </p>

<p>And you probably want to add "team outward agreement on things that no one really wants to do hurts projects!" (per Jerry Harvery's "Abilene Paradox"). But neither are all that snappy...<br />

      <![CDATA[ <p>Of course, conflict is part of the human condition.  The original article talks about this responsibility lying with management: they need to help set the priorities and framework in which people operate so that conflicts can be resolved.   The second suggestion feels like "project apathy."  If the team can't agree on what to do within a project, they probably never passed go with respect to team forming.<br />
