KM is hogwash, obviously

Last week Euan Semple said that KM is hogwash.  This is an ongoing discussion in the KM community and the larger community of skeptics.

It is remarkable how long the term "Knowledge Management" has lasted given that it is such nonsense.

You can increase the likelihood of connections, you can increase the chances that such connections will result in one person helping another and you can help create a culture in which helping each other is a good thing but you sure as hell can't manage knowledge.

Anyone who tries to convince you otherwise should be immediately suspected as a charlatan.

Sure it is. Worse, though, is knowledge transfer. Are you going to take the the knowledge from person A and give it to person B? The best you can do is to facilitate the sharing of knowledge.
