      <![CDATA[ <p>I had to explain what a blog is last week too. It's hard because you resort to the technical features which are not too special in themselves. I don't think I managed to explain it in full.</p>

<p>It might be an idea to distinguish between the technical features and the 'blogosphere', the blogging habits professional users have taken on? </p> ]]>

Great pointer and a very clear summary of what RSS technology is about. The NewsReaders.com site to which you link at the end of your post is mostly a Usenet/NNTP resources portalâ€”there are hardly any RSS aggregators listed. </p>

<p>For a current, comprehensive list of RSS aggregators and tools I suggest that people visit 3spots' incredibly useful list <a href="http://3spots.blogspot.com/2006/02/feed-and-rss-tools-in-5-steps.html">Feed and RSS Tools in 5 Steps</a>. I personally took a slightly different approach by creating a super aggregator of <a href="http://dutchisms.typepad.com/rss_tool_vendors">RSS Tool Vendor News</a>.<br />
