      <![CDATA[ <p>I suggest you take a look at what Jeff Conklin has to say about shared understanding at <a href="http://www.cognexus.org/.">http://www.cognexus.org/.</a> Although his focus is using Dialog Mapping and Compendium to help address "wicked problems," many of his examples point out the benefits of developing shared understanding in situations where there is a high level of social complexity such as cross function projects. My take is that the lack of shared understanding is often a crucial limiting constraint.</p>
