Parellel quotations on knowledge

Compare these quotes.  In reading Quote - Ancient Chinese Proverb thanks to Lauchlan Mackinnon, I could help think of Dave Snowden's take on sharing knowledge.

 Ancient Chinese proverb

"Tell me, I forget
Show me, I remember,
Involve me, I understand"

Snowden's take on Drucker, Polanyi and his own experience, Three for KM

  1. Knowledge will only ever be volunteered it can not be conscripted
  2. We only know what we know when we need to know it
  3. We always know more than we can tell and we will always tell more than we can write down

What do you think?  Are there parallels between these?
