      <![CDATA[ <p>I found Bryan's piece in McKinsey Quarterly abominable. It's a bald attempt to make consulting fees from messing with something that shouldn't be messed with. Bryan is a brilliant guy but he's talking through his hat on this one. He wants to force-fit "informal" communities, saddle them with top-down goals, require budgets. Hell, these are the very reasons communities subvert the corporate structure to get things done.
