Bill Brantley has issued a Call to Action to the Personal Knowledge Management Community to fix up the Personal Knowledge Management entry on Wikipedia. Have a go.
An Australian researcher is looking for fellow Aussies who read blogs but do not blog themselves.
Here is what I said in response to, "If you were invited to give a keynote speech on knowledge management, what words of wisdom or lessons learned would you impart?"
I have been blogging for five years now. Amazing.
Gian Jagai of Hitachi Global Services was the main speaker at the Boston KM Forum, and he discussed the entertaining topic of "so you were just promoted to knowledge manager - now what?"
Usually, this isn't terribly interesting information, but I made connections around the globe with friends in KM and technology.
I have been very fond of the term "context" in talking about knowledge management for a variety of reasons. But I hadn't thought much about the definition.
On recommendation of a friend, I re-read Necessary But Not Sufficient, a TOC business novel. I rediscovered the rules for technology. And it gives me more to consider in my new job.
One of my masters students happened to dredge up a quote from Herbert Simon that nails the problem of information overload. The focus of the quote is on attention, but that is the problem of information overload.
A couple tools lists turned up recently that might be of interest. One is the I&DeA publication of "KM library: tools, techniques and case studies." And the other is Dennis Kennedy and Tom Mighell's "The Lawyer's Guide to Collaboration Tools and Technologies."
